Learning Lab Assistance

Curious George isn't the only one with questions! At the Chandler Public Library, we answer questions all day long! Want to help someone get their GED? How about help children with homework? Any interest in helping someone find a job? These are all things that Chandler Library's Learning Lab volunteers do on a regular basis. The Learning Lab is open Monday-Thursday at the Downtown Chandler Library and is completely volunteer facilitated. Visitors to the Lab don't necessarily need the expertise of a librarian, but they often do need some one-on-one time with someone to guide them. That guide could be you! Learning Lab volunteers assist adults and youth with reading and writing skills, math skills, basic computer use, e-book instruction, internet searches, resumes, GED prep and homework. Volunteers work together in the lab, with everyone bringing their own areas of expertise to the experience. This is an on-going volunteer opportunity and we do ask for a minimum of a 6-month commitment. Volunteers must first attend a volunteer orientation, provide references and attend specific training for the Learning Lab. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. No prior teaching experience is needed.
