The Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is seeking 15-20 volunteers, preferably high school-aged and up, to work at our Specialized Recreation Spring Dance. This dance precedes our Special Olympics Multi-State Swim Tournament on Saturday, March 21. We are hosting several teams from around NC and as far away as Florida and Virginia. Volunteers can select duties as greeters, help with registration, door monitors, entertaining -dancing and chatting with participants, and/or serving refreshments. We will have a volunteer mini-training at 6:20p before participants arrive at 6:45-7:00p, and volunteers will help with clean up after the dance ends at 9:30p. To volunteer, you must be at least 15 years old and pre-register online. Per department policies, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed community service hours.
