ORGANIZATION: The San Diego River Park Foundation

The San Diego River is a precious natural resource for the community and it needs your help! Please join us in the Allied gardens/Grantville area as we work to remove trash and debris from the San Diego River near Kaiser Pond's.

Cleaning up the river bed is a rewarding experience that is fun as a family, group or an individual. No experience necessary! All tools and supplies will be provided; just wear close toed shoes and clothes that can get a little dirty. Community service hours can be verified.

Mission Statement

The San Diego River Park Foundation is dedicated to fostering stewardship and appreciation of the region’s namesake waterway. In order to protect and enhance the San Diego River as a place for recreation, habitat, and nature discovery, we are dedicated to engaging people to be stewards of the River and working towards the vision of a 52 mile, river-long system of parks, open spaces, and community places.

Description

We organize many different volunteer stewardship activities each month. River Cleanups, native plant gardening, habitat restoration, volunteer leadership, water quality testing, outreach and education, special event committees, technical committees and more.
