Teach yoga and mindfulness to kids!
ExpectationsYou are:
- Committed to teach at least 1 yoga class per week
- Committed for the full season for up to 12 weeks, classes are usually between the hours of 2pm-6pm
- Dedicated 1.5-3 hours to volunteering for one class which includes commute time (location dependent)
- Able to communicate openly, promply, and frequently (via texts, email, and phone calls)
- Reliabile (i.e. returning materials, being timely, returning mats)
- Able to providing at least 2 weeks’ notice for planned absences
- Able to participate in volunteer orientation session, trainings and planned volunteer meetings
- Support by providing curriculum, check-ins, and 20-hour kids/teen yoga training
- Working to establish a community through events and opportunities to connect with other volunteers
- Access to the YoKid Network
If selected as a volunteer, you have two date options to attend an orientation training. This is a mandatory in person training.
- Tuesday, April 3 - 6:00 pm-8:00 pm
- Saturday, April 7 - 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Mission Statement
Our mission is to enable students to foster self-awareness through regular instruction in yoga and meditation by qualified instructors. With greater self-awareness, they can realize their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Description
We offer instruction in yoga and meditation for students of all ages by qualified teachers.
Students:
-Learn individual movements and postures that incorporate balance, strength, and flexibility. Movements and postures are learned and sequenced specific to the student's age and development .
-Develop awareness of their body in relation to physical activity, nutrition, and overall health. Students learn to relate postures, movements, and breathing exercises to daily life in and out of school.
-Learn to work cooperatively, follow rules, and understand the relationship between their actions and the effects on those around them through group and partner exercises.
Instruction is offered to special education and regular education students before, during, or after school hours. Class size will vary depending on the age and need of the students.
