We currently have a need for weekly drivers on Mondays and Thursdays!
Our Home Delivered Meal program serves home-bound older adults in the community and helps address gaps in nutrition. By volunteering, you are providing essential services for home-bound individuals to remain independent. Home-delivered meals are more than just nutrition - meal delivery provides a wellness check and a friendly face.
This position helps provide clients with a nutritious meal, a friendly face, and a wellness check. Our regular drivers dedicate 1-2 hours a week serving their "route." Drivers are responsible for picking up meals from 5144 Oak St., delivering them to clients, and reporting back to Shepherd’s Center staff. Occasionally, drivers will deliver special items such as pet food, emergency food supplies, or basic toiletries and necessities.
Back-up drivers are called on when a route is open due to a driver being sick, being on vacation, or any other conflict. Back-up drivers are able to choose their routes each month!
