The Affiliate Chair works with the Community Outreach Regional Affiliate Manager and other National Office staff to lead the Affiliate and its volunteers for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
This role motivates the local affiliate to achieve goals that impact the national strategy and lead the local leadership to be a productive, cohesive resource in the community.
The Affiliate will represent the organization on a local basis, plan and execute events, host public awareness activities, and engage in outreach to healthcare professionals, elected officials and the local media on behalf of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is a nationwide network of people dedicated to working together to advance research, support patients and create hope for those affected by pancreatic cancer.
Description
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s unique volunteer program is made up of nearly 60 affiliates and more than 30 community representatives that represent the organization in their local communities.
With guidance from Pancreatic Cancer Action Network staff, local affiliates are led by a core volunteer leadership team that includes an Affiliate Coordinator, Education & Outreach Coordinator, Advocacy Coordinator, Media Representative and Event Coordinator. Beyond this core volunteer leadership team, other volunteers are encouraged to join committees supporting each core area to help carry out the organization’s mission at the local level. Separate from affiliates, community representatives are located in target areas identified by Headquarters and focus on creating awareness in their local community, while engaging in outreach to healthcare professionals, elected officials and the local media on behalf of
the organization.
Pancreatic Cancer Action Network staff provides one-on-one guidance and support to all of volunteer leaders and offers many resources and tools to aid volunteers in their efforts to further the organization’s mission.
