ORGANIZATION: The San Diego River Park Foundation

Spend a day on the River! For rotation one: join scientists from The San Diego River Park Foundation to learn how bugs can unlock secrets about the San Diego River’s health! Collect a sample and examine real living aquatic inverts. And for the second rotation, The 1to1 Movement will be leading a hands-on experiment focused on the waste we all produce, and the connections between personal consumption and the direct effects on our community, the River, and even River Bugs!

Participants will problem solve tangible solutions to lessen their impact. Supplies will be provided, please wear clothes that can get a little dirty and sun protection. RSVPs are required please! Address provided below is the meeting location for the event, but parking is available at the SDPD Western Division at 5215 Gaines Street, San Diego 92018. From the parking lot, follow signs to cross Friars Rd. at the signal to enter the Mission Valley Preserve.

This is a family centered event and is NOT open for community hour verification.

This event is being held in conjunction with the San Diego Science and Engineering Festival.
