The California Department of Fish and Wildlife needs Volunteers to work in the San Diego area. Volunteers must have the ability to work at least one (1) Monday-Friday shift each week from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Volunteers do a variety of important jobs including: assisting department Biologists and game wardens, responding to calls for help from local residents encountering wildlife issues(i.e.,coyote attacks, mountain lion intrusions, habitat conservation, etc.), providing sportsmen with hunting and fishing regulation guides, offering licensing examinations for falconry and trapping, hunter education classes. and more. The Volunteers are also Conservation Coaches, trained to work not only with the public but also municipal agencies, participating in and promoting a variety of wildlife conservation programs. This year will see the launch of a new "Wildlife Watch" program similar to Neighborhood Watch, but geared to wildlife and its relationships with local urban and rural communities. Interested fish & wildlife lovers, please apply. Bob Gaskin CDFW - Natural Resource Volunteer email at bobgas54@roadrunner.com
