Join our very dedicated docent team and receive a free education in art. Our fabulous team of docents become experts about our contemporary American craft collection in particular and about art history in general. You will gain expertise and share your insights with a diverse population of visitors, get to know like-minded individuals, and learn from our talented staff.

Not many museums offer a chance to get so directly involved! No art background or art history knowledge neccessary, we will train you!

The next session of docent training begins Monday, March 9th, 2015.

Please contact Michelle Ortwein for more information / to sign up.

About Racine Art Museum

Location:

441 Main Street, Racine, WI 53401, US

Mission Statement

The Racine Art Museum is one of the most significant contemporary craft museums in the United States, with a permanent collection of more than 8,000 objects from nationally and internationally recognized artists. RAM's mission is to elevate the stature of craft to fine arts by presenting ceramics, fibers, glass, metals, polymer, and wood alongside paintings and sculptures.

RAM plays a vital role in arts education at RAM's Wustum Museum, where community outreach programs and studio art classes are taught by artists working in craft.

Description

If you would like to become part of the culture at RAM, there are many opportunities to learn, socialize and engage with members of our community through volunteer programs at both RAM and at our education campus, The Charles A. Wustum Museum of Fine Arts. Get involved as a museum docent, gallery guide/greeter or just volunteer for a specific museum event.
