ORGANIZATION: The Hudson Gardens & Event Center

PURPOSE OF JOB: Assist with the cultural practices of gardening. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Duties include: Raking, weeding, watering, fertilizing, mulching, pruning, deadheading, planting, and removing plants as needed. Other basic landscaping or gardening tasks as needed. Shift information: Weekly shifts occur on Thursdays, April 16, 2015 through September 24, 2015 Shifts last from 8 AM - 10 AM Weekly commitment preferred Location: Outdoors, onsite at Hudson Gardens. Attire and equipment (provided by the volunteer): Closed-toe shoes. Hand pruners, soil knife, and hand-saw. Gardening gloves. Water bottle and sun protection (if desired). Other: Golf cart driving may be required. This position may involve the use of hand tools provided by Hudson Gardens. This position may involve the use of small equipment such as a rototiller.

Description

The Hudson Gardens & Event Center is a regional display garden, showcasing plants that grow well in Colorado’s Front Range climate. Our thirty acres of gardens are designed to educate and inform our guests by providing diverse opportunities to gain knowledge about plants, gardening, wildlife, and environmental stewardship. Hudson Gardens is also a multipurpose recreational facility featuring educational displays and programs, cultural and community events, and venues for private social and corporate gatherings. Since 2012, Hudson Gardens has offered free general admission to the community.
