PURPOSE OF JOB: Assist with the cultural practices of growing pumpkins. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Duties include: Preparing soil, planting, weeding, watering, fertilizing, and harvesting pumpkins. Other gardening tasks that are related to maintenance of Hudson Gardens’ Pumpkin Patch. Shift information: Weekly shifts occur on Fridays, May 15, 2015 through October 30, 2015. Shifts last from 8 AM - 12 PM. Weekly commitment preferred. Location: Outdoors, onsite at Hudson Gardens. Attire and equipment (provided by the volunteer): Closed-toe work shoes or work boots. Soil knife. Gardening gloves. Water bottle and sun protection (if desired). Other: Golf cart driving may be required. This position may involve the use of hand tools provided by Hudson Gardens. This position may involve the use of small equipment such as a rototiller.

Description
The Hudson Gardens & Event Center is a regional display garden, showcasing plants that grow well in Colorado’s Front Range climate. Our thirty acres of gardens are designed to educate and inform our guests by providing diverse opportunities to gain knowledge about plants, gardening, wildlife, and environmental stewardship. Hudson Gardens is also a multipurpose recreational facility featuring educational displays and programs, cultural and community events, and venues for private social and corporate gatherings. Since 2012, Hudson Gardens has offered free general admission to the community.
