PURPOSE OF JOB: Assist with the cultural practices of water gardening. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Duties include: Divide, plant, fertilize, prune, deadhead, place, locate, and relocate water plants. Maintain water garden areas including the removal of algae, weeds, stones or rocks, and sludge. Clean and maintain the Greenhouse, pots, tools and supplies, and assist with other tasks as needed. Shift information: Weekly shifts are available on either Wednesdays or Saturdays between 8 AM--12 PM during the months of May through October, dependent upon weather. Location: Indoors and outdoors, onsite at Hudson Gardens. Attire and equipment (provided by the volunteer): Chest waders, gloves, work shoes and or boots. Sun protection. Hand pruners.

Description

The Hudson Gardens & Event Center is a regional display garden, showcasing plants that grow well in Colorado’s Front Range climate. Our thirty acres of gardens are designed to educate and inform our guests by providing diverse opportunities to gain knowledge about plants, gardening, wildlife, and environmental stewardship. Hudson Gardens is also a multipurpose recreational facility featuring educational displays and programs, cultural and community events, and venues for private social and corporate gatherings. Since 2012, Hudson Gardens has offered free general admission to the community.
