Want to help nonprofits with your CSS and HTML skills? We're seeking a front-end developer for our high-traffic, mobile-responsive site.

GreatNonprofits is like a "yelp" for nonprofits. GreatNonprofits makes it easier for people to share their knowledge and experiences so that other people can discover great, often under-publicized nonprofits out there. Launched in November 2007, GreatNonprofits has received media coverage in NewsWeek, Chronicle of Philanthropy, Alliance magazine, and on NPR. Learn more about the national board and advisory board are here: http://www.greatnonprofits.org/team/. We are based in Redwood City, CA.

What You'll Do: Use your PHP, HTML, Bootstrap and CSS skills to improve UI and UX for our website, blog, and create email newsletters. We are seeking a long-term, part-time volunteer who is passionate about social causes and interested in using your skills to improve the world.

Benefits: GreatNonprofits currently receives 4M uniques per year, and presents a great chance to work hands on with alums of Microsoft, Harvard and Stanford. You'll work with a small team in a young, start-up/nonprofit environment. You will gain access to a wide variety of nonprofit leaders and organizations.

Commitment: 10 hours minimum per week

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience with PHP, HTML, CSS
  • Familiarity with Bootstrap is a plus
  • Minimum 6 month commitment
This is *not* a good volunteer opportunity for you if you are seeking a full-time paid position since if you sign on, we require a 6 month commitment with a minimum of 10 hours per week
