We have the materials and curriculum, but we need good, enthusiastic Adult Facilitators to help us ensure that our adult volunteers are prepared to help our girls stand up, stand out, and stand tall. As a facilitator, you will empower other adults to learn via trainings and workshops. In doing so you will gain valuable facilitation and data management skills, non-profit experience, and most importantly, you will be helping our volunteers provide girls the free and safe environment they need to pursue whatever interests, causes, and leadership roles are most important to them. Girl Scouts of San Jacinto volunteer opportunities are tailored to fit your calendar and your interests. Choose your areas of focus and we will provide you with all of the training and support you need to be successful in your role as a Facilitator. Explore what being a Facilitator could mean for you. GSSJC is part of the world's preeminent organization for girls, with a membership of more than 65,000 girls and 18,000 adults. Today, as when founded in 1912, Girl Scouts is a community-based organization which helps cultivate values, social conscience, and self esteem in young girls, while also teaching them critical life skills that will enable them to succeed as adults. In Girl Scouting ... and its special girl-only environment ... girls discover the fun, friendship and power of girls together. Membership is open to all girls in kindergarten through 12th grade, and to both women and men who subscribe to the Girl Scout Promise and Law. A Girl Scout volunteer must be 18 or older and not enrolled or classified as a high school student. Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council (GSSJC) serves 26 counties in Southeast Texas, including: Angelina, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Hardin, Harris, Houston, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Nacogdoches, Newton, Orange, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Trinity, Tyler, Walker, Waller and Wharton.
