Welcome to a world that invites girls to challenge themselves, discover who they are and what they truly can become! While the girls are on their journey, YOU, the Girl Scout troop Leader or Assistant Leader can: Develop your potential Learn new job skills Put your special talents to use, and most of all... Be a positive influence in the lives of girls Guide girls through programs that include science and technology, business and economic literacy, visual arts, and outdoor and environmental awareness. She/he assists girls in discovering themselves, connecting with others and taking action to make the world a better place. You get choose what age group you want to work with, the place you want meet, and how often you want to meet. The idea is that this fits your schedule with ease. And we will provide you with all of the training and support you need to make this a rewarding experience for both you and the girls.

Description
GSSJC is part of the world's preeminent organization for girls, with a membership of more than 65,000 girls and 18,000 adults. Today, as when founded in 1912, Girl Scouts is a community-based organization which helps cultivate values, social conscience, and self esteem in young girls, while also teaching them critical life skills that will enable them to succeed as adults. In Girl Scouting ... and its special girl-only environment ... girls discover the fun, friendship and power of girls together. Membership is open to all girls in kindergarten through 12th grade, and to both women and men who subscribe to the Girl Scout Promise and Law. A Girl Scout volunteer must be 18 or older and not enrolled or classified as a high school student. Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council (GSSJC) serves 26 counties in Southeast Texas, including: Angelina, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Hardin, Harris, Houston, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Nacogdoches, Newton, Orange, Polk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Trinity, Tyler, Walker, Waller and Wharton.
