Resources to Empower is looking for Volunteer Instructors (VI) to teach math classes for our evening adult literacy progams. VIs will administer interim assessments for internal monitoring; complete progress reports to assess clients' progress; use curriculum materials and course syllabi provided for instructional purposes; refer clients in need of targeted assistance to Volunteer Tutors (VT)s; and design supplemental learning materials, if necessary, for clients in need of additional resources. VIs must have a Bachelor's degree in the subject or a related area that is tutored but may or may not have taught adults before. VIs must be able to teach the full length of course (usually 6 months) for two hours per week in the evenings between 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. All volunteers must submit a volunteer application, provide a copy of their I.D., complete a level II background check, and complete a volunteer orientation/training before beginning. For more questions, please do not hesitate to contact us through the Volunteer Match network or directly at info@resourcestoempower.org.
