Hunger and isolation confront over 15% of our Seniors across the east valley. Your service as a Team Hope volunteer would go a long way toward alleviating both. Team Hope volunteers deliver frozen meals and a friendly visit to elderly homebound neighbors in Mesa or Apache Junction. Team Hope volunteers commit to: Attend an orientation, and be available for delivery with visit 2-8 hours a week (Mon-Fri during business hours), and keep detailed records and make monthly reports.

About Assistance For Independent Living Volunteer Services
Location:

Mission Statement
Assistance for Independent Living volunteers help support homebound Seniors in the east valley remain independent in their own homes. We do this by providing rides for doctor and other medical appointments. We provide rides and other light assistance for grocery shopping and nutrition. We also work against isolation by providing friendly visits and phone calls.
It's a partnership between our volunteers and homebound neighbors over 55 that not only helps these neighbors live independently as long as possible, but strengthens our communities along the way.
Description
After going through an orientation and background check, volunteers are offered opportunities to provide transportation and/or socialization services for our homebound neighbors over 55. Volunteers accept only those opportunities that interest them, and they are available for. All we ask for is a minimum of two hours a month for 12 months. Some do exactly that, and it has a powerful impact on our neighbors and communities. Some do more as they are interested and able.
