Looking to give back to your community? Cashiers needed on Sundays to ring up sales, assist customers, put new merchandise on selling floor, monitor dressing rooms.
The American Cancer Society is the largest non-government funder of cancer research in the United States. When you volunteer with us you will have fun and make a difference in the battle against cancer.
In the Walnut Creek Shop our items for sale include clothing, accessories, jewelry, furniture, artwork, antiques, collectibles, and household items.
We are looking for happy volunteers to help us run our resale store (thrift shop). Customer service is our priority. A commitment of a minimum 8 hours a month (two 4 hours shifts or one 8 hour day) for at least one year is requested, but not required.
We also need help with Pricing and Sorting, Donation Procurement, Volunteer Recruitment, Creative Marketing and Special Events. Merchadiser Needed!
You can donate or shop for quality merchandise in our Walnut Creek store located at 1538 Locust Street, between Bonanza & Civic, and half a block from the Dean Lesher Regional Center For the Arts. Monday- Saturday 10-5:00 PM, Sunday 11-4:00 PM.

Description
Develop your retail merchandising, customer service, and sales skills - all while making a difference. American Cancer Society Discovery Shops help support the fight against cancer through the sale of high-quality, gently used, donated merchandise. For more than 40 years, the Society has owned and operated these specialty resale stores, featuring items such as clothing, accessories, jewelry, furniture, artwork, antiques, collectibles, and other household items. Volunteers are always needed for a variety of meaningful opportunities like working in the store, providing customer service, receiving inventory, and other duties.
