PURPOSE OF JOB: Engage visitors and promote understanding and appreciation of the flora, fauna, and ecology of Hudson Gardens.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Educate visitors about Hudson Gardens’ plants and animals while roving the Gardens or facilitating activity stations. Assist school groups, children and families with nature-based activities by employing biological artifacts and other educational tools. Set up and tear down educational displays and activity stations.
The physical demands of this position include the ability to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and lift up to 25 pounds. This position will be stationed outdoors, onsite at Hudson Gardens. Required attire is closed-toe shoes; a nametag and uniform shirt will be provided.
Two-hour shifts are available on weekdays during May through October and Saturdays during June through August. Shift times are adaptable to volunteers’ schedules. A weekly commitment is preferred.

Description
The Hudson Gardens & Event Center is a regional display garden, showcasing plants that grow well in Colorado’s Front Range climate. Our thirty acres of gardens are designed to educate and inform our guests by providing diverse opportunities to gain knowledge about plants, gardening, wildlife, and environmental stewardship. Hudson Gardens is also a multipurpose recreational facility featuring educational displays and programs, cultural and community events, and venues for private social and corporate gatherings. Since 2012, Hudson Gardens has offered free general admission to the community.
