Join the Stewardship Committee of North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy as we plant 40 trees on a nature preserve in Clarkston, Michigan. For the past two years, NOHLC has been working hard with volunteers and contractors to restore the forest surrounding a pristine reach of the main branch of the Clinton River. We have been removing non-native trees and vines and are exciting to be planting native trees! Basswoods, hickories and oaks will fill gaps in the forest created by invasive species removal. These trees are important parts of a floodplain forest ecosystem and are also great for birds and pollinators. This property is open to the public for hiking along the established walking paths year round!
