Wesley Housing’s After-School Program is designed to provide a safe and structured environment for elementary children at its Community Resource Centers (CRC). Heavy emphasis is directed toward academic improvement and social skills development, both of which are identified areas of weakness for at-risk children. We need patient and creative volunteers to work one-on-one to assist children in their communities to improve math and reading skills for the 2014-2015 school year. We currently need Homework Helpers at the following Community Resource Center: Wexford Manor CRC: 2802-A Hollywood Road, Falls Church, VA 22043. Time Commitment: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 4:00pm-5:00pm. Volunteers are asked to commit one day per week for the current Spring 2015 semester.

Wesley Housing is a nonprofit affordable housing developer operating 29 communities totaling over 2,300 affordable housing units, serving over 25,000 individuals. In addition to housing, Wesley Housing also provides services to its residents through Community Resource Centers which offer afterschool programs for youth, computer training, job skills training, ESL classes, nutrition classes and recreational programs for youth and adults.
