About
The Great Dane Rescue of MN & WI is an all-volunteer rescue devoted to rehoming Great Danes in MN & WI, with an on-site sanctuary for unadoptable Danes to live in dignity. Our mission is the care and re-homing of purebred Great Danes.
Danes coming into the rescue may stay with us for a short time or for many months before just the right home is found. We are always in need of qualified foster homes in MN and WI. Please note that we are unable to place foster dogs in homes with children under 8.
Duties:
- Training your foster dog to be an acceptable family member
- Socializing your foster dog (e.g., outings to the store, training center, etc.) and working to correct any unacceptable behaviors
- Giving your foster lots of love (and getting bunches in return)!
Other details:
- GDROMN will provide raw food for your foster if you are able to pick it up in Minneapolis once a month. If you aren't able to pick up the food provided, the food you purchase for your foster is tax deductible.
- Veterinary fees are paid up to the amount that would be charged by the rescue veterinarian.
- Our volunteers are covered by our insurance! Liability and medical are available to help with any incidents that may occur while caring for a foster or representing the rescue at a public event.
- Don't have giant breed experience? That's OK! Become a part of our mentor program with assistance available 24 hours a day by phone.
