BLINDSTART has a Dragon Boat Race team that is practicing for upcoming races on Saturday, February 7th.. Come down and help our team with set up, equipment and refreshments. You will also learn how to become a Sighted Guide! Then you may help our Visually Impaired People (VIP'S) to the warm-up area or down to the beach to get on the boat. Saturday, February 7th. Some have guide dogs that need to be watched while owners are on the water. Mother's Beach is a great location where many Dragon Boat Teams practice.

Blind Start of America is an award winning 501(c)3 non-profit organization, who's passion is bringing together sighted and visually impaired people through exciting athletic and social events like Dragon Boat Racing and the Blind Mud Run. Our mission is to provide scholarships for blind and visually impaired persons (VIPs) to develop job skills to enable them to ultimately lead lives of independence. These scholarships provide education, training, communication, transportation, adaptive equipment and technology.
Description
We raise awareness and money for visually impaired individuals. We do this by participating in marathons, dragon boat races, and mud runs.
