Casa Libre/Freedom House is looking for several volunteers to assist in the daily preparation of dinners for our residents. Casa Libre is a homeless youth shelter specializing in immigrant and refugee youth. We provide shelter, food, clothing, education enrollment, medical, dental, and mental health referrals, case management, and pro-bon legal services.

We are looking for individuals who can work 3-4 hour shifts and help sort, prepare, and cook the evening meals for the children. We also hope the volunteers will be able to instruct the residents on cooking techniques and bring in new recipes, as well as offer some knowledge on proper nutrition and diet habits. We would like to recruit enough volunteers to fill the slot for every day of the week. Our days are flexible, but we ask that interested volunteers are able to commit to a set schedule (i.e. Every Mon and Wed) for at least a 2-3 month period.

If you would like to apply, please send a resume to egonzalez@centerforhumanrights.org for further details.

Pass a background check and sign a confidentiality form

Great interpersonal skills and ability to be a positive role model for adolescents
