ORGANIZATION: Forest Preserves of Winnebago County

Macktown Living History

Macktown Living History, under the direction of the Forest Preserves of Winnebago County, is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to restore and interpret the cultural life ways of Macktown (originally known as Pecatonic), one of Winnebago County’s earliest settlements.

Volunteers are needed for our annual historical event, "Keeping Warm in the Winter at the Mack House" located at Macktown Living History. We will celebrate Stephen Mack's birthday, as well as demonstrate historical cooking, winter chores, knitting, trapping and flint/steel fire starting. Volunteers are also needed to give tours at the Mack House and Education Center.

Visit our website at www.macktownlivinghistory.com for more information regarding this event, and contact Kim O'Malley, Volunteer Coordinator, at komalley@winnebagoforest.org to volunteer.
