Position Summary:
- Manages TAS’s Facebook and Twitter accounts to promote conservation issues, raise awareness, and market TAS programs and activities
- Uses social media scheduling tools such as HootSuite
- May develop new social media opportunities such as YouTube, Instagram, Vine, etc as desired
- Uses Google Calendar, TAS website, and newsletter to inform social media posts to promote upcoming activities and opportunities for community engagement
- May attend special events and live-tweet
Appointment: College quarter or semester (recurring opportunity); may start at any time; however, only one social media intern/volunteer at a time permitted
Schedule: Flexible hours, weekly meeting with staff; work from our office in University Place or home/school/mobile device. This opportunity could be as few as 4 hours per week and may be more based on interests and creation of new projects. Your creativity and ideas are welcome here!
Requirements:
- Submit resume and 1 page letter on your social media experience and interest
- Complete TAS Volunteer Application forms
- College coursework and/or major in marketing, communications, public relations, or similar fields desired
- Familiarity with and use of social media, websites, internet, and PCs.
- Most importantly: be creative, enthusiastic, able to communicate and work well with others in writing, visually, and orally, and supportive of TAS’s mission to connect people to nature

The Tahoma Bird Alliance connects people with birds, other wildlife, and their habitats through conservation, education and recreation.
Description
We strive to involve youth, families, and seniors in the discovery and protection of native habitat throughout Pierce County. We develop and offer year-round nature education programming online and at the Adriana Hess Audubon Center (University Place, WA), and at the Morse Wildlife Preserve (Graham, WA).
We organize and lead field trips throughout the South Sound. We also work to affect public policy at the city, county and state level to achieve our conservation goals.CAUSE AREAS
