Vision Connect (1-800-BRAILLE or 1-800-272-4553) is a national resource provided by Braille Institute to connect blind and visually impaired people of all ages, their loved ones, caregivers and providers, with important information, free services and other resources designed to help people live well with low or no vision. Volunteers will have the opportunity to take incoming and make out-going calls. Volunteers help our clients gain access to vital resources and will offer refferals and evaluate each client as needed. An additional interview is required and training will be provided. 4-10 hours/week for at least 8 months

Description
Braille Institute offers a variety of services to people who are blind and visually impaired, from mobility and technology training, to low vision rehabilitation and home visits, to arts and exercise classes, to a vast library of braille and audio titles for every age, and more. Each year, we help tens of thousands of people regain and maintain their independence. Thanks to generous donations, Braille Institute services are available free of charge.
