Have you ever thought about becoming a volunteer firefighter, EMT, or both? Or, do you have an interest in supporting the operation of the department behind the scenes? Every day, citizens of our community find themselves in dire need of help. And when they have no answer, they call us. Who will answer that call if you won't? The members of Evergreen Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad are normal, everyday people just like you. Every day, our members go to work, provide for their families and face the same challenges that anybody faces. Every night, they become firefighters and EMT's, protecting their neighbors, fighting disaster and saving lives. Will you answer the call? We are looking for members to serve in a variety of ways. The department's focus is providing fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services (EMS) to the community at large. Our Active Members are on the front line providing these services as Firefighters and EMTs. We are also always in need of support members to assist in the business of a fire and rescue station. there are opportunities for Support Members that are responsible for public education and community programs, communications and social media, fundraising, clerical work, logistics, and special event planning to list a few. We also have many things available for someone who would like to help for weekend or a day with a single project that may require special skills.
