The African American Youth Harvest Foundation hosts Conference for the Youth throughout the school year. This one will be at Reagan Early College High School Cafeteria this Saturday, January 31, 2015.
As a volunteer you would help us set-up for the conference; be assigned to help one of the workshop facilitators. Help them find their booth and assist them throughout the Conference. Facilitators will be at their booth showcasing/signing up students to come the workshop that follows. After workshops we break for lunch, and immediately the conference is dismissed. At that point we would need assistance cleaning up. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Mission Statement
Founded in 2006, African American Youth Harvest Foundation’s (AAYHF) mission is to provide resources to underserved, at-risk youth and their families on their path to self-sufficiency. We envision a world where all youth and their families who are in need can transition out of crisis and achieve full autonomy and independence.
Description
AAYHF seeks to engage vulnerable youth and their families through our provision of wraparound and culturally competent programs. Our belief is that at-risk youth are best served through the outreach and engagement of family members. Through this holistic approach, we not only serve adolescent clients but also strengthen the familial unit by providing resources and support. As an example, when a middle school student is referred to us for case management by the Austin Independent School District (AISD), our staff meets with their entire family to identify and address the needs of all family members. An unemployed parent might be referred to our Workforce Development program, or a sibling in need of mental health counseling might be referred to our internal, licensed provider. By taking this approach, we can be a trusted resource in the community and our impact is felt beyond the youth with whom we initially work.
