Run for World Water 5K Course Monitor in Tempe, AZ

The Run for World Water 5K is a USATF certified course and will be professionally timed by Startline Racing . Immediately following the 5K start will be a 1K walk around the lake, followed by a Kid's Lollipop Run (50 yard dash). There will be fun for the whole family with a DJ, face painting (also a volunteer opportunity) and free snacks!

We are looking for people to be a cheering section and give direction to runners and walkers participating in our 5K run/walk and 1K walk along the course. Each volunteer will be assigned an area and they need to be in that spot by 8:30am when the race starts and will be relieved by a course sweep when runners/walkers have finished with that area. We estimate this time to be between 9:30am and 10:00am depending on your location. Volunteers will get a free race t-shirt and can take part in the post race activities.

All proceeds will benefit Water For People (WFP), a non-profit organization with the main mission of supporting the development of locally sustainable drinking facilities, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education programs in developing countries. Currently, WFP is working in 9 countries: Uganda, Rwanda, and Malawi in Africa; the state of West Bengal in India; Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua in Central America; and Bolivia and Peru in South America.
