Be someone's light today! Gentiva Hospice is looking for a handful of volunteers to be what we call vigil volunteers. This volunteer opportunity is so important as it brings comfort to our patients in their final hours. As a vigil volunteer you will offer companionship and a comforting presents to patients during their final hours. You will also be a support to the patient's family and caregivers during final hours, helping to relieve them of the unknown, listening to them, and being their comfort.

Comprehensive training and orientation for hospice volunteering is provided, as well as additional training on anticipatory grief, being an empathetic presence reflective listening and the rights of the dying .
