Become a Mentor Today! The Mental Health Initiative, Inc. has partnered with Nashville International Center for Empowerment (NICE).

Help us get highly trained and experienced refugees such as nurses and teachers into the professional workforce. The mentor program is a recertification program of Nashville International Center for Empowerment (NICE) and assists refugees with degrees/certifications earned abroad to continue working as professionals in the United States. These individuals speak fluent English and are eager to work!

Work one-on-one to help someone navigate the job search and hiring process, attend networking events, assist with resume building, and interview practice.

Mentor's Role:

  • Get to know your mentee: Communicate with your mentee at least every 2 weeks (via email, phone, or in person).
  • Help your mentee get involved: Invite your mentee to attend community service opportunities and/or networking events. Aid your mentee in finding relevant volunteer opportunites by informing them. Answer questions that your mentee may have or direct them to someone that can.
