We are seekiing out volunteers ages 21-35 to be a part of our Young Professional Group. This group will be an opportunity to network with other individuals and help think of fun, creative events that will help continue MDA's mission! This group is BRAND NEW, so it is a great opportunnity to help make this group grow and there are many opprotunities for leadership within the group. More information below: Purpose: Established in 2015, the Young Professional Advisory Group of MDA Kansas City is designed to gather professionals between the ages of 21-35 to help drive and continue MDA’s mission in the Kansas City Community. Expectations: As a member of the Young Professional Advisory Group, you will be expected to participate in monthly meetings, be engaged in activities surrounding the group and help us gain a presence among a younger demographic of professionals in Kansas City. We want to make this board a group of fun, dynamic individuals who have a love for MDA and our mission of saving and improving the lives of those living with a neuromuscular disease. Projects: The Young Professional Advisory Group would be responsible for hosting social and professional development events geared toward young professionals that help promote awareness about MDA and raise funds to continue the mission. In addition, throughout the year, MDA has a variety of fundraising events you would be more than welcome to help participate in. Depending on the talent and interests of participating members, we would help find an event(s) that would be a great fit for you to participate in either as an individual or as a Young Professional Advisory Group. One area we would rely on help from the Young Professionals is in soliciting silent auction donations for our Serving Up Cures Gala. When working on projects, we want this group to be very free to think creatively and advise on how to best engage a younger group of professionals. Structure : MDA Kansas City Young Professional Advisory Group will consist of 5 leadership positions making up the Kansas City Young Professional Advisory Board. The board positions will vary in term length from 12-18 months so as to maintain continuity of the group. Elections will take place in March and September, with March 2015 being the first election.
