Tag Day Volunteer Coordinators
On April 17 & 18, Compass to Care will be participating in TAG DAYS with the Children's Benefit League.What is it? We will basically become Salvation Army Bell Ringers for kids with cancer and without the bell! Volunteers will be placed throughout Park Ridge on both days with buckets asking those who pass by for a donation. It is called Tag Days because those who donate will be given a tag (sticker) to show their support.
This is a great opportunity for groups to get involved! The more people we have tagging, the more funds we will raise!
WE NEED VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS TO HELP BOTH DAYS!
As a volunteer coordinator, you will be assigned to one location. You will help recruit volunteers for that location. You will keep the schedule for the volunteers, help them get setup to raise funds, make sure they have enough materials, etc. It will be a great leadership opportunity for our organization! Training will be provided. Training dates will be set for mid-February.
It will be a fun day to help raise money to help kids with cancer travel to treatment. We hope you will join us!
If you are interested, please complete our online application at http://compasstocare.org/current-volunteer-opportunities/
We will also need volunteers for the day of the event. There is another posting for this on VolunteerMatch and on our website http://compasstocare.org/volunteer-calendar/

Mission Statement
Compass to Care ensures children, whose parents have a financial, can access life-saving cancer treatment. We carry out this mission by scheduling and paying for cancer-related travel necessities so children can get from their homes to the best medical center for treatment. This includes airfare, bus fare, car rental, gasoline, lodging, parking fees, taxi fees, tolls and train fare.
Description
Having a child with cancer is hard.
Not being able to get to the hospital for treatment is heart-breaking. That's where we step in.
With a focus solely on helping with cancer-related travel needs, Compass to Care's aim is to help families whose children must travel for cancer treatment by:
- Eliminating some of the monetary burdens resulting from medically-necessary travel costs;
- Removing the physical and emotional stress that comes with planning a trip and traveling with a child who is ill;
- Providing peace of mind by removing travel costs so they can focus their energy on their child; and
- Giving hope that by getting to the right hospital they may save their child’s life from this devastating disease.
