Assist the DRIVE Instructor in teaching a driver’s education course for refugees, political asylees and immigrants. The course is an 8-week training program that meets 5 days per week, Monday-Friday 3:00-5:00. Topics will include driving safety, rules of the road, special driving situations, and other topics covered in the Massachusetts’ driving exam. Volunteers will help students prepare for the written portion of the test. Course materials and training will be provided.
Monday through Friday 3:00-5:00pm. Volunteers can choose one or more days.
Requirements:
- Related experience in a classroom setting is a plus.
- Experience working with ESOL individuals is a plus.
- Interest in working with people of various linguistic, cultural, religious, ethnic and national backgrounds.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
