ORGANIZATION: Sound Generations

Exercise your office skills to help keep Meals on Wheels rolling. Tasks include calling participants for their weekly meal order and entering the orders into a user friendly computer program. A Volunteer is needed Tuesdays from 9am to noon, about once a month when the weekly Volunteer will be away. Training is provided.

Qualities for this position include attention to detail, accuracy, people skills, communication skills, flexibility, good cheer, and a commitment to the well being of homebound elders.

As a Meals on Wheels Volunteer, you will belong to a team committed to helping homebound seniors maintain their health and independence with nutritious food, personal contact, and caring service.

Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.

Description

Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
