Description
We have various volunteer opportunities. They include the following: Friendly Visitors, Bereavement, End of Life Doulas, and Office Volunteers. Valley’s Hospice program offers volunteer services for patients and families. Volunteers provide friendly visits to those who have a life-limiting condition and are no longer seeking curative treatment for their diagnosis. Bereavement volunteers provide support to those who have lost a loved one while on our service. These volunteers can either visit families at their homes or help facilitate one of our bereavement support groups. Volunteers who would prefer not to interact with patients and families can still help out at the Valley Home Care and Hospice office. Office volunteers assist with mailings, assembling packets given to our patients and families, answering phone calls, filing, and other various duties. Valley Hospice offers a unique End-of-Life Doula program that connects specially trained volunteers with patients to determine patients’ wishes for the end of their lives; they also provide a compassionate presence when families may need the most support. They provide emotional, physical, and spiritual support to patients and their loved ones.
