ORGANIZATION: RSVP of San Mateo & Northern Santa Clara Counties

The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District's purpose is to purchase, permanently protect, and restore lands forming a regional open space greenbelt, preserve unspoiled wilderness, wildlife habitat, watershed, viewshed, and fragile ecosystems, and provide opportunities for low-intensity recreation and environmental education. An Outdoor Education Leader works as part of a team with small groups of 3rd-6th graders on a field trip (offered to schools on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the spring and fall of each year) to the Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve, and the David C. Daniels Nature Center, teaching children about the natural world, providing opportunities for experiential learning, and fostering a fun atmosphere for discovery and exploration, using the District's unique "Spaces & Species" curriculum. A six-session weekday training is generally offered, twice per year -- early spring and late summer. NOTE: The District provides all necessary training and ongoing enrichment opportunities.
