This weekend we only have films on Friday Night...a double feature event...two movies back to back... We are in need of volunteers to help us with concessions (age 14 and up), and learning the projection system (over age of 21 is needed). If you are interested, each time period is 3 hours of time (we call this a MOVIE BLOCK). Self transportation is needed...we will train you! You are welcome to volunteer more than once, and you can do back to back events if you like! Each MOVIE BLOCK is a 3 hour window / arrive one hour before the start of a movie time, and you are done approx. 30-45 minutes after the movie ends. Simply tell us what day(s), and time(s) you are avilable, and provide us with your email address and phone so we can contact you. And you can also simply show up at the theatre, let us know you are there to volunteer, and we'll get you started! it's EASY! ;-) The goal for each MOVIE BLOCK is to have one person handling ticket sales, who also handles the register (cash and credit card transactions); one or two persons at concessions (must be at least 14 years old); and one person operating projection (must be at least 21 years old) Volunteers should plan to arrive one hour prior to the actual advertised show time and be prepared to stay up to 45 min after the movie ends for clean up and prep for next show, ie a 1:30pm movie start time means you need to arrive at 12:30pm and stay until up to 45 min after the movie ends. the end time is flexible and depends upon the actual run time of the film. Normally, the last show of the day is 9pm, and that volunteer should prepare to stay until the projection room is closed, the theatre, lobby and restrooms are checked/cleaned and the last lights are turned off. Volunteers can anticipate having a "staff" member (we are all volunteers, a Staff is represented by one of our Board members) train them, and at least one will be present during the opening and closing MOVIE BLOCK time periods. Our MHGPS Board members and Officers are all volunteers and at least one BOARD MEMBER / Officer/ MANAGER will be on hand per show, sometimes more depending upon the staff member's availability. Volunteers will be trained on their first time here. If it is enjoyable and you want to volunteer, great! That's our goal! That we offer a good experience for our volunteers and if you want to join us again, we are asking each person to volunteer to at least once a month, one shift (3 hrs).
