ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army Northwest Division-Seattle

  • 6 people are interested

Our standard filing away of property project documents has backed up a bit due to the holidays and how busy our dept has been here at Headquarters. We're looking for a kindly volunteer who has one day a week (we're flexible on the day, all but Tuesdays work for us) available and some filing and clerical experience to do some filing and possible light reorganizing of our small file room. Shift would be about 2-3 hours each week for about 3 months. The volunteer would be working under the direction of our Admin Assistant, who's onsite and around the corner from the file room if there are any questions during the shift...and there's FREE COFFEE in our lunchroom! If interested, please contact us with why you'd be a good fit! Please include full name and contact phone & email. We'll review applicants and call for a short phone interview. Thanks for your time, we look forward to hearing from you.

Mission Statement

Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an Evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination

Description

With heart to God and hand to man, The Salvation Army strives to meet the basic needs of all who come seeking help. Taking immediate care of the basic human needs of food, shelter, clothing and safety is an important first step in the development of a more positive and permanent change in the people we help.

It is essential to note that at no time may participation in denominational activities be required as a condition for receiving needed services. All service given in the name of Jesus for meeting human needs and caring for hurting persons is in and of itself valued and is a spiritual ministry.
