Our Mission is to "help all, especially the young, gain a greater understanding of the world and its people through hostelling." Overview: Every Sunday morning we take our guests on a hike. You gather them at the hostel, take the bus with them, hike with them and get them back to the hostel. We currently hike at Temesecal Canyon in the Santa Monica Mountains. However, we will be expanding our hiking route to Hollyridge Trail to see the Hollywood sign every other Sunday starting in February. It would be ideal if the Hollyridge Hike leader could spend some time in Hollywood with the guests after the hike before bringing them back to the hostel. Key responsibilities: Gathering guests at the hostel, hiking with them ensuring the group is moving at a good speed for everyone, and getting them back safely to the hostel. Commitment: Leading 1-2 hikes per month is ideal but this can be adjusted for those with varying schedules. Please email me a short introduction of why you would like to volunteer for this position. Please also include any background you may have with travelling or hostelling. Sorry we don't offer work for trade.
