Help the US Forest Service & Go Mt. Charleston by picking up litter around the popular Lee Meadows in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area (Mt. Charleston area). Your efforts will help improve forest habitat and clean up a popular recreation area. We will be picking up litter on Saturday, February 7 from 9am to Noon. Litter pick up supplies will be provided. Individuals, families, and groups are encouraged to participate. Registration is required; to register or to find out more information, please contact us at volunteer@gomtcharleston.com or 702-515-5408.First Creek is a great easy hike that has a lot to offer for the beginner, as well as, the experienced hiker. Come and enjoy the scenery, history, and diversity of this beautiful area. Moderate. 3 miles. All ages. Limited space/registration required. The Spring Mountains National Recreation Area (SMNRA) is part of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Better known to locals as Mount Charleston, it is located just 30 minutes from downtown Las Vegas and encompasses more than 316,000 acres of remarkable beauty and surprising diversity.
