ORGANIZATION: Maryland Food Bank

Those interested in working directly with our partner agencies can request to be a TEFAP volunteer. Volunteers will assist our Pantry on the Go Program by visiting a mobile drop site and helping families to fill out important paperwork. Volunteers in this position enable us to distribute even more food in the community. Pantry on the Go drops usually occur once per month at each site. We currently need volunteers at the following sites:

Project PLASE

Occurs every second Thursday from 12:45pm - 6pm

Essex United Methodist Church

524 Maryland Ave. Essex, MD 21221

Occurs every third Thursday from 2 - 5pm

Description

The Maryland Food Bank is a nonprofit hunger-relief organization, leading the movement to end hunger throughout Maryland. For more than 35 years, the Maryland Food Bank has partnered with communities across the state to distribute food to individuals and families in need. Through carefully crafted programs, the food bank aims to meet the immediate needs of Marylanders while simultaneously working to find long term ways to reduce hunger statewide. Currently distributing more than 100,000 meals per day--nearly 37 million meals annually--the Maryland Food Bank will continue to expand its efforts until hunger ends.
