The Visiting Artist Program gives Whittier ECE-8 teachers the opportunity collaborate with a visiting artist from the community, creating a fun, unqiue and innovative learning experience.Artists can be from any background and use any technique that is appropriate for youth to explore.

ArtCorps' primary purpose is to stimulate change in neighborhood public schools by establishing strong connections between art, education, and the community.

Description

The program increases students’ opportunities for creative engagement in schools, allowing for a more rigorous and well-rounded education. Through the work of VISTA members, RedLine will be able to bolster the educational and extracurricular arts programs beginning at Whittier ECE-8, an underserved school in RedLine’s community of Five Points.
