Safe Place volunteers, under the direction of the Safe Place Coordinator, serve as a liaison between the Catholic Charities/Safe Place program and the designated Safe Place sites inside Forsyth County in North Carolina. Safe Place Volunteers conduct short Safe Place site visits. Volunteers may also participate in Safe Place awareness community activities and special events when needed. Project Safe Place is a national program.

Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte provides services encompassing assistance to individuals and families experiencing a need for:

  • Foster care, adoption and pregnancy services
  • Individual, marriage and family counseling
  • Distribution of donated services to the needy
  • Food Pantry
  • Acute emergency services
  • Enrichment services
  • Burial Support

Catholic Charities (CCDOC) Refugee Resettlement program is an affiliate of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), one of the national voluntary agencies participating in the federal government's refugee resettlement program. For the past 30 years, the CCDOC Refugee Resettlement program has embraced the mission of providing quality services and a caring support system that will empower our refugee clients to become self-sufficient, self-reliant, and productive members of society. On average, CCDOC Refugee Resettlement program resettles and supports between 350 and 400 refugees per year. All of our services are non-sectarian and do not promote any religious belief or affiliation.
