CELEBRATE spring and the blooming of our 150 Cherry Tree Grove with cultural performances, traditional food, unique local vendors, children’s corner and a beer tasting! Guests may partake in Hanami , the traditional custom of picnicking under the cherry trees. We look forward to once again sharing this community tradition with San Diego! The Japanese Friendship Garden sells its famous yakisoba, which requires a lot of fast-moving, helping hands. This is a fun opportunity for those who like a fast paced activity, and the selling traditional Japanese street food! All of our proceeds will go to the Japanese Friendship Garden's cultural and wellness programs and our 9 acre expansion project! If you're a student in need of volunteer hours, this is a great one for you! College community service organizations welcome to participate.
