The Virginia Workforce Center (Fredericksburg location) seeks professional individuals to offer their experience in critiquing and reviewing resumes for Job Seekers on a volunteer basis. Volunteers should have experience with writing or reviewing resumes (i.e. HR professionals or business owners, career center staff, school counselors, etc.) however, if interested individuals have taken workshops or courses to gain knowledge of subject matter this will be considered. Volunteers should be available to offer assistance to job seekers by reviewing and assisting individuals with their resumes 2-4 hours a week. This may be completed on one day of the week or spread over 2 days. Particularly seeking individuals who have the ability to work one on one with job seekers in our Fredericksburg office. Virtual Resume Reviewers via Center email are also sought after.

Description
The Workforce Investment Board administers the federally funded WIA Program which serves adults and youth from low income family (economically disadvantaged) and other eligible workers who have lost their jobs. The Bay Consortium supports public/private partnerships involving local government, business and industry, labor, education and training institutions, employment services, and community support organizations.
The Virginia Workforce Centers are a one-stop concept to provide local businesses and all citizens with employment, job training, support services, and more.
The purpose of the Center is to integrate our partners’ services and coordinate resources for job seekers, employers/businesses, skilled and dislocated workers, training, and, where appropriate, incumbent workers.
