One Brick Outdoors Veggielution Community Farm
Event Description
Join us for a beautiful day of working outdoors getting your hands in the soil, connecting with the land, and tasting the fruits of your labor on the 6-acre non-profit Veggielution community farm.
Learn about sustainable agriculture and organic farming concepts by planting, weeding, composting, harvesting, and more. No experience is necessary -- we'll show you what to do. But if you do have gardening experience, we would love to learn from you!
All volunteers are encouraged to take home some fresh, local, delicious veggies; Work In = Food Out. The rest of the produce is distributed through our various programs, or sold at our low-cost Farm Stand.
What we'll be doing
Sometimes we do big jobs that need a lot of hands at the same time, and other times we do smaller tasks in small groups. You can try your hand at many different aspects of the farm, and there is always something new happening.
What you should know
For your safety and comfort, it is important to bring the following items: a hat, sunscreen, a water bottle, and mandatory closed-toe shoes or boots. Long sleeved shirts, long pants, and a bag to bring food home in are recommended. And if you'd like, make the Veggielution worms happy and bring your veggie (no meat or dairy) kitchen scraps for composting.
Park at the back right hand corner of the parking area and walk down to path towards the red farm stand. Look for folks with the orange One Brick logo.
