An exciting opportunity is coming to the Oshkosh area! On Feb. 2 -4 several hundred home schooled students (ages 12 - 18) will gather at the Gruenhagen Conference Center inOshkosh, WI, for the Wisconsin Qualifier Speech and Debate Tournament. This tournament is sponsored by the National Christian Forensic and Communications Association (NCFCA), the third largest speech and debate league in the country. The tournament will include eleven different speech categories and two styles of debate.

In order to provide our students with valuable feedback, werecruit judges from the community. In short - we need you! It's a 2 1/2 to 3-hour time commitment, which includes a brief orientation, the 1 1/2 hour round, and time for filling out your ballot in the hospitality room (where we will offer you delicious refreshments) afterwards. No experience is required! We are training our students to communicate to people from all walks of life - not just "experts" in the field of communication.

To see the exact times we need judges, go to ncfca.org. Click on "How to Get Involved" at the top of the page and then "Judge." Scroll down to the map and select the state of Wisconsin and then select the Wisconsin Qualifier. The tournament schedule will pop up after you do that. The times listed are arrival times. Please sign up for a round that is convenient for you - you may sign up for more than one if you would like. Also, please feel free to send this along to anyone you know who might be willing to support and encourage youth. If you have any questions, you may contact Maria SteenePoorte at ncfcawijudges@gmail.com.
