ORGANIZATION: Girl Scouts of Western Ohio

Want to help girls learn how to run their own business, teach them business ethics, goal setting, money management and people skills? You can do by using our Girl Scout "It's Your Business Run It" curriculum. We are looking for two-three students who will work together to teach girls these skills while they are having fun selling Girl Scout cookies! Girl Scouts provides the training, curriculum, supplies, girl roster and meeting location details. The series will be on Thursdays, February 12-April 2 from 2:30-4 p.m. at Covedale School’s cafeteria (Westwood - 5130 Sidney Road ~ Cincinnati, Ohio 45238). Volunteers must complete a volunteer application and background check (free of charge) prior to the series. For more information, please contact Christine Sevindik at 513-619-1438 or christinesevindik@girlscoutsofwesternohio.org.

Mission Statement

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.

Description

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible Pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
